Let's Go the Distance

youTheology is committed to youth ministry that lasts; to nurturing faith in the teen years that grows more deeply throughout life. Last blog post we told you about Believe Curriculum that help you invest in teens and young adults in a way that connects them with and excites them about the faith so that they stay in it and grow more deeply. This is youth ministry that goes the distance.

Another part of our commitment to youth ministry that goes the distance is an annual youth workers gathering. This is a time when adults who work with and/or are interested in youth come together to connect around a theme with a featured presenter and breakouts for deeper and more practical learning.

Sometimes as adults working with and/or interested in youth we ask, how can I make it when the odds seem stacked against me? Sometimes the odds are not stacked against us but we just want that extra boost to help us on our journey. Or, we wonder how we can be effective in making faithful disciples for Christ who will last.Youth Workers' Gathering 2013 in Oklahoma City will gather around the theme, "Youth Ministry that goes the Distance." We will look at these issues. The keynote speaker is Dr Kenda Creasy Dean, professor and writer in the area of youth ministry, with Rev Stephen Cady as the other presenter. Bishop Hayes is the preacher. You can click here for more, including registration information.

Going the Distance in Youth Ministry - Believe Curriculum

God has blessed us at youTheology. We have been privileged to work with young people over the years and see them grow through their interaction with seminary professors, community leaders, and their peers. It is a process which combines meaningful content that while suited to their level was not "dumbed" down, a rich community of peers and other leaders, and the companionship of mentors in their home setting. This youTheology Journey takes place over a year of worshiping, serving, learning, and exploring. We have seen high school students grow in their faith and commitment to God, the church, and the world. We have been privileged to be part of their journey. Some are now pastoring, many are active in their churches, in community and service organizations and in various careers.

We thank God who has enabled us to fulfill our mission of developing faithful leaders for a diverse church and world. This year we celebrate our tenth anniversary with the theme, "Ten Good Years With God: What's Next?

Part of the answer to "what's next" is Believe Curriculum. We realize that everyone can't be a part of the one-year program out of Kansas City, MO or El Paso, TX. Nevertheless, everyone can be a part of this proven process of developing faithful leaders wherever they are.Hence, Believe Curriculum, an online curriculum resource for you based on youTheology's one-year Journey with high school students. Through this online curriculum resource, teens and young adults as well as the adults who walk with them on this journey can know what and why they believe, experience it, and stay committed and grow in the faith.

This online curriculum will be available soon. Click on the link below to find out more now so you can take advantage of our introductory offer.
